There’s a song from back in the day (1988) called ‘Thank you’ by Ray Boltz, which I feel resonates with what I want to share today.

The chorus says:

“Thank you for giving to the Lord

I am a life that was changed

Thank you for giving to the Lord

I am so glad you gave”

These lyrics, so beautifully illustrate the impact that your giving has in the lives of the people we work with at Oaks of Righteousness. Whether it’s students, women, youth, or families, lives are being changed every day.

When I think about what God has accomplished through Oaks of Righteousness Ministry, I can’t help but give thanks. How He has provided everything the ministry needs through each and every one of our supporters. Whether it’s through prayer, a word of encouragement, a message, email, phone call, video call, visit to the school, financial support, volunteering, providing groceries and meals, covering the cost of fuel with gift cards, offering your time, gifts and talents… whatever it is, I am so thankful that so many have decided to give. It is because of your giving that lives are being changed for eternity! We are so glad you gave!

This past weekend, Friday, February 28th & Saturday, March 1st, were two significant days of thanks and praise for the ministry.

Friday, our Church in Canada – Living Hope Fellowship, hosted a mission sale. This was an auction that included various donated items, which saw all of the proceeds donated to missions. There were a few mission organizations that were chosen and Oaks of Righteousness Ministry had the privilege of being one of them. How grateful we are for the generous donation! The amount that was raised will be enough to allow the ministry to pour the long-awaited cement pad for the students to play on during recess and physical education classes. What an answer to prayer!

On Saturday, our Church in Mexico – Heimat Gemeinde, together with Oaks of Righteousness Ministry, hosted it’s first ever fundraising supper! What a success it was. We had the privilege of serving somewhere between 225-250 people. Because of this fundraiser we were able to pay off the remainder of our solar panels, an expense that we really wanted to have paid off sooner than later. More exciting than the funds that were raised was how the Church came together for this. There are so many people to thank who made this fundraiser as successful as it was… The people who took charge of the food prep, the purchasing and donation of the food, the decorators, the people taking orders and collecting donations, those running the coffee stand, the candy stand, the Church for allowing us to use their kitchen and dining area…etc. We can’t say thank you enough. Our brothers and sisters in Christ were so willing to volunteer, donate, and give of their gifts and talents to help the ministry. This past weekend was truly an example of how a Church body should function.
