Richness.

The last few weeks have been extremely busy – everything from renovations at our new location, to moving into the new school, hosting a staff Christmas party at our place, having the school Christmas concert, and preparing for our own Christmas and family time back at home, in Canada. This, unfortunately, has left us with little time to post some of the most exciting and precious memories of the past four months.
What a privilege it was to be a part of the Oaks of Righteousness 2024 Christmas Concert last Friday. Nathan had the opportunity to do an opening in Spanish (something he’s never even dreamed of doing 😉), share the gospel with the students and audience that came to the program, and watch our own children join in (nearly seamlessly 😉) with the other Tarahumara children in their Christmas program. The girls and I had so much fun wearing our new outfits – we could hardly believe how heavy the skirts are and how much fabric is in one skirt. To give you some perspective, the bottom of Faith’s skirt was eight meters in circumference! Much to Nathan’s surprise, he also received a coordinating top for his Christmas outfit. How much joy this brought us; our cheeks truly heart with laughter when we presented it to him at the staff Christmas party and he put it on for the first time – his own Tarahumara blusa.
As you may have already noticed, if you’ve been keeping up with our blog over the last four months, we are extremely rich – rich in new experiences, seeing new sights, eating new foods, meeting new wonderful people, having various language opportunities, serving the less fortunate….and the list goes on, and on….and on! Yet our greatest “richness” comes in none of those things, but rather in the gift of Christmas – God, sending his own son Jesus to this earth, as a sacrifice for the sin of mankind. God, reaching down to earth to restore a relationship with broken sinners as He promised he would do back in Genesis, and freeing us from the bondage of sin. God lavishing His love on us, calling us His son and daughters, and desiring to have a relationship with us. God. loving. us.
I am in awe again this Christmas of that overflowing, never-ending, richness! Jesus – God with us.
The gift is free and it’s offered to you as well. It changes your todays, your tomorrows, your eternity – and everything in between. How I hope and pray that each one of you has experienced this richness and a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Richness – just ponder it this Christmas.
