September 11th, 2024

It has been just over three weeks since we arrived in Mexico. The adjustment to life in Mexico, as different as it is, has been surprisingly easier than expected for Rose and myself. This surprising adjustment to life in Mexico has certainly been in part due to some amazing friends and families that God has placed in our lives here in Mexico, which we are so grateful for!

Our children on the other hand have had a more difficult time adjusting to life in Mexico. Having no friends tends to do that. Our children were starting to wonder if they would ever make friends in Mexico. While our children still keep in touch with their family and close friends from Canada through WhatsApp video calls, they have really missed in person interactions with children their age. There have been many evenings and nights where tears were shed as they longed to see their friends; to play with their friends and family back home.

The picture below brings back so many thoughts and emotions. This was just over a week ago. Our children were desperate to play with other kids... so much so that when they would hear the voices of children playing on the other side they would peak over the fence hoping to see someone that could be their friend.

Today was the day! It happened!!!

Wednesday, September 11th

Our kids made their first friends in Mexico!

It is difficult to express in words the joy that this moment brought to our hearts... to see our children finally have friends to play with. This evening, as we prayed before going to bed our children were truly praising and thanking God for the friends that He brought into their lives.

I am sure that our children will rest better tonight, knowing they now have some friends in Mexico! Thank you Lord!

Oh... and if you read to the end, please pray for us. We may or may not be considering getting this puppy. The pup was found by our children's new friends. Sounds like they won't be keeping it and we may have the opportunity to adopt it.
